From the farmhouse “Beim Keil” ...
... to the Alpinhotel Keil for bikers, hikers, and skiers
The history of our hotel at the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz begins with a traditional, almost 400-year-old farmhouse, which was given a distinctive name because of its geographical location on a wedge-shaped piece of land: “Beim Keil”, which means “at the wedge”. Even today, this term is still used by people from Valdaora/Olang.
Like many other hotels, we started small and a long time, nearly 150 years, ago. However, right from the start, we set new standards to offer our guests more and more comfort. We were the first hotel in Valdaora/Olang with running hot water, a lift, a jukebox ... and our own ski lift!
A lot of time has passed since then. And in this time, we, the second generation, have taken over the helm: Lukas Brunner, a passionate hotelier and bike guide together with my wife Kathrin Steurer, a dedicated paediatrician in Valdaora/Olang. We are the proud parents of three lovely children. Our pillar: our motivated and kind team, who stand behind us and share our goals. At our active hotel with the Dependance Alpinvilla Keil annexe (just a few steps away from the hotel), we work together to provide a friendly and casual atmosphere. Newly opened in 2007 and comprehensively renovated in 2013 and 2017, this hotel now offers everything you could wish for on holiday. Visit the Alpinhotel Keil in Valdaora/Olang and let the famous Val Pusteria/Pustertal hospitality captivate you!
